“I am a girl without game because I don’t think that’s fair. I’m not interested in games. I’m a wear-my-heart-on-my-sleeve, fall in love-at-first-sight and go with it sort of girl. It’s all about having fun with someone and learning how to communicate with someone, in a way that you enjoy.”
I remember when you came to me at St. Claire’s. My first words, “I thought you’d be fatter.” And I remember the night I was up late, making a peanut butter sandwich, and you slipped and called me, “Dad”. The feeling of joy that gave me… And the terror, before you stepped into the machine.
I think both Sawyer and Juliet needed someone to believe that there was more to them than the sum of their past mistakes. They each needed someone who could look at all the terrible things they had done and still believe in the good that they possessed. Together, perhaps for the first time, they were allowed to believe in themselves and with that, find redemption and love.
